Simon was announced as head guard today. On the bright side, we've got our home straight and Lou's back at work tomorrow. She's very keen to get back onto 4J's case. You know what, me too.

Lou's staying at home, trying to get the place straight. I insisted she invite a friend over as well so she's not alone. Head office say they can only send paperwork through authorised channels and I should report any concerns about tampering. Can't help feeling that would be showing my cards a bit early - I may yet need some leverage against Simon.

Good news / bad news. Good news - Lou is fine. She just wasn't near her phone. Bad news - our house has been broken into and completely trashed. I, of course, missed my interview. That's the end of that then.

Second interview booked in for the day after tomorrow. Rang back head office to ask if the paperwork they were sending me needed to be signed for and they knew nothing about it. They should get themselves organised!

A guy rang up from head office to ask for my home address so they can push Derek's transfer paperwork through with me direct. Hopefully that will speed things up.

Two guards have been asked back for second interviews for the head guard post - Simon and me. Now this should be interesting.

Calmed down now. Had a long conversation with Lou last night. She's still 7 in my eyes but she quite rightly pointed out she is old enough to make her own decisions. And it would appear 4J has a genuine case for appeal building. Lou's been trying to get information, so his letter should have answered some questions. Hope I haven't scuppered that.

I have decided to hold fire on confronting Simon about the paperwork. I may be able to make better use of it without his knowledge. Am on letter duty today, so better start sorting through this lot.

While Simon was on dinner duty, guess what I found in his desk - the original transfer paperwork and the reply from head office. Counting to 10...

Head office called, asking if I had signed the paperwork they returned about Derek's transfer. What paperwork? I'm going to go looking for it.

Alright, well, as you asked, I went for the chief guard's position here. I initially thought the interview went quite well but all the other candidates were so much younger than me, I don't think I'm what they're looking for. Even Simon went for it and he's new.

I just noticed I can see Lou from one of the windows overlooking the courtyard. Funniest thing - it looked like 4J was waving at her.

The general consensus amongst the inmates appears to be that 4J was on the receiving end of our raids, not the instigator. We've had a word with a few others, including Derek, to say if anything happens to 4J they will be held directly responsible. And don't ask about the interview.

Explained what I could to 4J. I still get a bit nervous going back to solitary - bad memories. And I'm trying to get my head in gear for the job interview tomorrow. And head office have finally received the transfer request! I really want to know what happened to the first one.

Big Derek is looking particularly smug today, which is very annoying. With 4J in solitary there's a fair amount of confusion amongst the prisoners about who's a grass and who isn't. I don't need all this in the week of my interview.
